Mark R Brockman

Mark R Brockman has dedicated most of his life to art, to painting, to rendering the natural environment, seen through his eyes, to open the eyes of the viewer. The artist works mostly in the media of oil and pastel. His paintings though representational are expressionistic in nature, with great concern for color and the physical texture of the paint. His inspiration is the woods, streams and farms that lay within walking distance of his studio, it is nature that inspires the spark that becomes a painting, but the subject is only a starting point. Mood, paint, brushes and subject all play a part in creating the artist's vision.

Brockman's paintings are in numerous collections across the USA as well as in Germany. He has participated in numerous juried, invitational, and one-man shows, and has won awards. He teaches painting classes at the Deleplaine Visual Arts Center in Frederick, MD., as well as independent paintings workshops, he is frequently invited to demonstrate his painting methods for various art organizations.
